Before Lexington, Kurt spent time at Cincinnati United Premier (CUP) as a coach in their Girls Academy program where he led teams to much success at the GA Champions Cup, National Playoffs, and at the state
level winning multiple State Cup Championships.
Kurt had this to say about joining Mercury Soccer:
"I am excited to join the Mercury Family as their ECNL (MDL) Director! I want to thank Brian LeFevre and Ole Jacobsen for the opportunity and will strive to continue to strengthen and elevate Mercury Soccer Club in Cincinnati and in the region."
When asked about his coaching/game philosphy, he said, "I have always been a believer in the soccer concept of emphasizing fluidity, being positionally interchangeable, being versatile and allowing players the freedom to experience the game regardless of their position. Teaching the game to players so that they understand the 'why' in the soccer moments is also paramount in their development. The technical ability will always be first in establishing a strong foundation in the growth of each player."
Director of Coaching and Mercury Co/founder Brian LeFevre had this to say about the club's new hire:
"Kurt is going to be a excellent addition to an already top class staff that we are building. His ability to help shape players, teams, and programs will be evident over the coming months, and he has already hit the ground running. He is eager to jump into his new role, and the club is here to support him as he guides our players and families."
